Products include: Cable pulling lubricants Fibre duct floatation lubricants Heat shrinkable jointing systems Copper cable splice closures Fibre optic splice closures Fibre optic connectors & cables Indoor and outdoor termination boxes & distribution cabinets Data Centre cable and connectivity solutions Job Title: Business Development Manager Telecom Location: Johannesburg Metropolitan Job Summary: Duties & Responsibilities: What we need: Key Performance Areas: We are in search of a dynamic Business Development Manager with solid experience who is excited by the challenge of growing networks and developing new business in untapped markets. You must be accountable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and hungry to hit targets. Our ideal candidate must have the standing and maturity to be able to represent the company at a broad range of events / projects and with customers. Work Environment: The role will involve significant national travel and you will need to be prepared to travel up to 70% of your time including overnight stays to visit current clients, develop new business and promote the company at various events and shows. This role is supported on the technical front by a team of product managers and engineers based in Cape Town. In addition, there is an internal sales team that supports quote generation, processing and scheduling of orders and delivery coordination. What is expected from this job (Main duties): Establish and proactively maintain a strong professional relationship with key decision makers and influencers within assigned accounts Drive profitable sales expansion with a focus on acquiring new and re-engaging with dormant accounts, while growing existing clients Gather and analyse market and industry intelligence, metrics, and trends to determine opportunities and customer needs Develop and implement sales plans in line with the telecoms division strategy Deliver business development related presentations, negotiate, and close business with nominated accounts, working in coordination with location business development resources Provide positive leadership and representation of Tank to the public, clients, vendors, and to all employees through membership in professional organizations, serving on company project teams, conducting employee meetings and visiting work areas and interacting with employees. Represent company at industry association meetings to promote company and services offered Prepare reports and presentations showing sales volume by sector, region, location, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion Follow up in a timely manner on quotations for the assigned customer base Achieve sales goals by converting, retaining and penetrating accounts Record sales activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, new information is added and accurate call / visit logs are entered Skills, Knowledge, Personal Qualities: Analyse the market to identify trends and opportunities, responsive to changes in the market Deep understanding of sales frameworks, methodologies and processes and marketing principles Build collaborative partnerships/ networks, both face-to-face and in remote working situations Lead generation Interface with clients, determine their requirements and win new work Selling and closing sales Negotiation & persuasion Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs Effective presentation skills Technical understanding/ interest, product knowledge Data driven and results orientated Commercial/ business understanding Good organisational and time management skills Sociable and more extroverted Personable and presentable Able to think on their feet Able to ‘read’ others accurately Show staying power (tenacity) Desired Experience & Qualification: Application Criteria: BA/Business Science in Business, Marketing, Diploma in Telecoms Engineering or related field Experience: Minimum 8 years industrial sales experience with a proven business development track record in a Telecoms and/or Data Networks environment 5 years’ experience as a Key Account Manager in a Telecoms and/or Data Networks environment Experience of sales in the electrical industry (Power) or telecoms industry (Telecoms) an advantage Experience of sales in the Municipal, Utilities and Distribution sales environment (Power) or Municipal, Network owners and Telecom contractors/ installers (Telecoms) an advantage Computer Literacy & Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel etc.) To Apply: Click Here Apply Now
