Experience & Qualification:
- Grade 12.
- Must have a Rigger Ropesman Trade Certificate.
- Must have 55 Ton crane certificate.
- Must have a Resin capping certificate.
- 2-3 years related experience as a Rigger in a mining environment.
- Must have their own transport and a valid drivers license.
- Good general health AND a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that good standard of safety awareness is maintained.
- Ensure that section personnel comply with the requires Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
- Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintained.
- Examines objects to be moved, estimate their size, shape, and weight, and decide on the type of equipment necessary.
- Erects a temporary jib or derrick if required, and installs cables, pulleys, and other tackle.Chooses or makes slinging equipment and attach it to the load.
- Erects cranes and mobile crane booms, increases, or lowers the height of tower cranes by bolting component parts in place and rigging cables.
- Splices ropes and cables to make slings and tackle.
- Erects structural steel for buildings or plants under construction.
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs equipment.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly inspections to be done.
- Rigging Maintenance on all machinery.
- Must be able to work overtime when required.
