Our client in the Lighting industry is currently looking for a
Sales and Market Development Manager, in Johannesburg.
Responsibilities:- Help the company meet customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping the company competitive and innovative.
- Responsible for establishing, reporting and managing sales processes for a world-class sales force, by optimising call schedules and the CRM system.
- Attend sales meeting for the team on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Follow up all queries as soon as possible.
- Ensure accuracy of daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
- Identifying and executing on Trade shows and Exhibitions opportunities to grow the sales of Waco & Waco partner brands.
- Timeous and consistent Master data maintenance.
- Ensure front end route to market master data is consistently updated including rep call adherence, call frequency and strike rate information is readily available for Line Managers on a national basis.
- Best practice sale resourcing model maintained, including sales route productivity and efficiencies is implemented.
- Planning of sales route call schedule from Monday to Friday.
- Ensure the calling schedules are maintained.
- Assist with identifying and developing emerging markets.
- Follow up on leads and where necessary assist in opening of new customers.
- Ensure a coordinated approach to market development for new groups or individual customers across South Africa and Southern Africa.
- Negotiate and meet with customers to obtain the best possible opening order prices for Waco.
- Establish an excellent working relationship by always "keeping promises" and handling all problems.
- Check the following reports on a daily basis:
- Check limits exception report.
- Call reports.
- Weekly sales report submitted to the GM, Head of Sales and Branch Managers.
- Check and resolve the following reports in terms of the Revenue and GP:
- Rep call reports.
- Call schedule adherence.
- Strike rate.
- Quotes.
- Visit customers with sales representatives, especially where market development opportunities presents itself.
- Identify tender opportunities in South Africa and Africa.
- Complete all tender documentation when necessary.
- Submit and follow up tenders on a regular basis.
- Implement, manage, control and report on key sales metrics through the sales CRM system.
- Determine Couching and training needs of the team members.
- Create and execute a couching and training plan for the sales team.
- Assist the branches/GM with other duties that is fair and reasonable.
- Obey any reasonable instruction from management.
- Representing Waco management at functions and stakeholder engagements.
- Report to the National Sales Manager.
Requirements:- A tertiary qualification in Sales and Marketing or equivalent is a must.
- A minimum of 5 years sales, management, key accounts management or market development experience is a must.
- Knowledge of Electrical industry would be an advantage.
- Microsoft Office knowledge, and experience with CRM software.
- Must have a valid drivers licence and reliable roadworthy vehicle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
- Must be professional, passionate, and motivated.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (conflict, influence, negotiation, relationship building, diversity)
- Have a strong ability to function independently without supervision as well as part of a team.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
