Sales Executive – Africa To be based in Gauteng (Midrand) Job Title: Sales Executive – Africa Reporting To: Managing Director, Africa Department: Sales Job Incumbent: Location: Midrand South Africa Subordinate positions: None 1. Purpose of the Job The Sales Executive is responsible for helping build up a business by identifying new business prospects and selling product to them. They must maintain relationships with current clients and build and maintain relationships with new clients and must be able to search out business leads. 2. Key Performance Indicators % I. Sales · Develop monthly sales reports · Contribute into preparation of business plan and forecasts as appropriate · Work with Sales team to plan and execute territory management plans · Assist the Managing Director with the overall department operations · Provide support in deal negotiations, contract development and other business development projects · Assist in developing financial justification, preparing proposals, making presentations, and performing necessary follow-up for successful closing of the sale · Responsible for promotion and sales of the company’s Machines · Achieve pre-established sales contribution targets and maintain compliance with allocated budget. · Communicate important feedback from customers · Stay up to date with new company products and features · Sales event organisation and planning assistance · Provide full administration and coordination support for tenders, proposals, and quotations · General support of all other processes and procedures in relation to the bid requirements for the company · Maintenance and collation of final offer documentation · Undertake activities that generate new leads and opportunities for the business · Develop and carry out individual territory sales implementation plans · Measure and monitor the sales performance of each account in line with the account plan · Feedback competitor activity in the region to the business · Feedback future customer requirements into the business planning process · Operate within budget and manage costs appropriately · Act as sales lead for area of sales responsibility on bids liaising with bid team and other departments as required · Sales Force · Work with Sales to maintain accurate customer records and sales opportunities in Salesforce · Ensure Salesforce records accurately reflect customer proposals and contracts · Produce regular and ad-hoc Sales pipeline reports from Salesforce and related data sources · Sales Pipeline management using Salesforce · Producing routine and ad-hoc reports form Salesforce · Sales administration 2. Client Relationship · Foster and maintain close activity with the client’s acquisition personnel at every level, build close relationship with them. · Actively seek and creatively develop new sales while maximising revenue opportunities from other key activities. · Develop strong, communicative working relationship within cash processing solutions. 3. Carries out Administration and support functions by: · Maintain insight on competition activity within customer base and report back to Management · Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases. · Attending clients meeting · Assisting with the preparation of a variety of reports covering financial status, resource · forecasts and other reports by providing necessary information. · Reviewing reports and expenses submitted by the Finance Department to ensure compliance with allocated budget. · Calendar Management including scheduling appointments & resources 4. Contractual Obligations · Responsible to keep abreast of all Company policies & procedures · Manage attendance and presence according to contractual agreement · Report absence to Manager immediately with a telephone call · Submit all leave request timeously to enable proper planning 5. Job Specification Education · Educated to Diploma in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or equivalent standard · This Diploma is highly preferable but may not be essential if the incumbent has the experience required under the “experience” heading. · Technical/Computer Knowledge · PC literate (Fully proficient with XP, MS office, particularly Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Outlook) Experience · 3 years proven experience in Sales position or in related field · Experience in sales in Africa and with commercial banks, retailers and/or cash and carry operators. · Experience in writing proposal content · Previous experience in selling products or solutions in similar industry would be advantageous. · Knowledge and experience of selling through direct and indirect channels. · Ability to create long lasting and strong relationships at all levels · Excellent negotiation capabilities · Results driven attitude · Credibility in dealing with senior levels of government · Previous experience within region is highly desired · Knowledge of cash handling equipment will be an advantage. Working Conditions · Extensive travel required by any mean appropriate (Car, Public Transport or Air) · Extensive travel to Africa countries · Typical work requires 40 hours. · Position may require additional hours to complete special projects or meet deadlines · Use of standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines Physical Demands · Movement within a standard office · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus · Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies.
