An exciting opportunity exists for a SAP HR HCM (Human Capital Management) Technical Consultant at IT Shared Services Division in Bryanston , Johannesburg . The purpose of the role will be to develop and maintain software and workflows according to specification within the SAP HR environment, R/3, and Workflow delivery; and to work closely with the HCM Functional Consultants to deliver, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance SAP functionality. You will also be responsible to take ownership of assigned issues related to workflow and ABAP. Line Manager : HCM Systems Support Manager Number of Direct Reports : None Job Specification: Key Performance Areas: Assist functional consultants with documenting the technical design of change requests Investigate and promote SAP standard solutions for business issues/requirements that are in line with best practice Ensure that change procedure is adhered to and all relevant documentation (SOLMAN, CBR, CBR Log, F/TDS, workflow) is kept up to date Develop quality code and its associated documentation (TDS) adhering to the team and departmental development standards Ensure that change requests and projects are delivered on time and within budget, demonstrating a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritization Provide regular and accurate updates on CBR/Project progress to all stakeholders Collaborate with functional consultants and business in the testing of SAP software programs and applications Code SAP HCM modules and complex functions using ABAP programming language Create specialized reports for SAP HR modules using ABAP programming language Design forms for SAP HR modules using SAPscript and SmartForms Troubleshoot and correct SAP module problems by using ABAP programming language to implement OSS notes Modify system screens to provide default values and eliminate unnecessary fields using transaction variants Play analytical role in addition to pure programming Test programs in conjunction with SAP module consultants (applications and user support staff) SAP Workflow maintaining existing workflow definitions Writing new workflow definitions Develop strategic relationships with functional consultants across systems streams e.g. HCM, Retail and other Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, project consultants, and vendors Promote the effective use of SAP with the support team and key business users Ensure that all SOLMAN calls are resolved within ITSS SLA timelines Ensure that regular feedback on all SOLMAN calls is provided to the SAP Support Team as well as business stakeholders Actively participate in SAP system upgrade initiatives Ensure that EHPs and SPs have been assessed for impact in the relevant functional area Complete SPDD's and SPAU's for system upgrades timeously and feedback to the relevant team Actively assist functional consultants in the testing of the upgraded system Provide support over system upgrade go-live period Co-ordinate the tasks assigned to the Applications and User Support Team members (testing and SPAUs and CDMC/UCIA input) Code clearly and thoroughly annotated according to AVI ITSS Development Standards Technical design documentation updated timeously and accurately Minimum Requirements: Experience: 5 years' experience in SAP HR ABAP programming and portal experience Qualifications: Tertiary level education in the IT field Certification: SAP ABAP Certification Additional Requirements: SAP BADI (Business Add-In) BADI implementation SAP BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface) SAPScript and Smart-Forms Object-Oriented ABAP ABAP HCM Interfaces including SAP ALE (Application Link Enabling) Interfaces including IDOCs , and BAPI , Module Pool (on-line dialog) Interface programming ALV (Application List viewer) Programming BDC (Batch Data Communication) and Call-Transaction Reporting (conventional and interactive) Business Add-Ins IDOCs Function Modules User Exits Apply Now
