We are looking for an experience dynamic Security Manager in our Store based in Dlamini Soweto. Mainly supervises the workforce that looks after the security and safety of the people who work in a building and visitors to the site. Experienced security professionals with a good knowledge of public safety, who have worked their way up to a supervisory position. Duties of a security manager include: overseeing the work of the security team (Red Ants) as they work to protect the store and the warehouse Planning work rotas to ensure the company's security needs are covered monitoring CCTV and alarms in a site's control room carrying out risk assessments to determine the safety of the site coordinating the response to any incidents occurring daily recruiting, hiring and training new staff and providing ongoing training to current employees (Red Ants) in line with HR coordinating with police and other security agencies to manage security risks organising specific security for events, VIP visits, or other occasions when there are more people present than usual Developing, testing and improving security procedures such as evacuations in the case of fire or threat Investigating any security breaches Controlling access to certain buildings and areas within the site Responsible for ensuring that theft cases are logged and reported to police until cases are closed Responsible for ensuring that the security team follows internal processes, managing performance and discipline Work closely with HR and submit weekly reports in terms of progress reports The successful candidate will be responsible for (not limited to): Crime prevention Physical patrol of all security operational areas including commercial property, shopping centre, schools and estates. Store & Warehouse Main Entrance. Pro-active and crime prevention patrols. Assist with crime prevention awareness campaigns in collaboration with security manager. Daily risk analysis around the store and warehouse premises Effective Incident Management and post incident evaluation. Crime scene management. As first respondent, responsible for first information of crime investigation and report to HR department. Respond to all complaints received. Well managed security access control and ensure employees and customers are safe Security support services First respondent to fires, in an around the Store & Warehouse that poses a direct threat and by implication a future threat. Continuous monitoring of store and warehouse for safety purposes Human Resources and Administration Identify and assist with the development of training needs and shortcomings. Assistance and compliance to ensure adherence to all SOP's. Record keeping of all incidents. Matric (Grade 12) PSIRA Grade B (A grade needs to be obtained within 3 months after appointment) 5 years Security management/supervisory experience Able to work long shifts e.g. 12-hour shifts The successful candidate will be required to be medically fit and healthy due to the nature of the job We have a lucrutive offer and company benefits to be discussed in the interview process.
