We are currently recruiting for a Skilled, Experienced and qualified Senior Cost Account in the Textile or Apparel Manufacturing Industry to join our client's Finance Team. You will be working with the Financial Accountant and relevant stakeholders to assess business expenses and optimization of budget. You will provide financial and accounting support to executives and department heads who establish goals and budgets for the organization. Collecting and analyzing data about the company's operational costs Setting standard costs of manufactured goods Developing and analyzing cost standards Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc. Performing account reconciliations Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data Managing the company's balance sheet and accounting books Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure Use financial software to identify inconsistencies and irregularities in operational costs and model the impact of possible budget changes on the company's financial health. Responsible to improve and drive financial efficiency Provide data-driven advice to company leadership for better decision making Production Cost Analysis: Analyze production costs, including raw materials, overhead expenses, and operational expenditures. Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Collaborate with relevant departments to control and reduce costs where possible. Performing account reconciliations. Gross Margin Reporting: Managing the company's balance sheet and accounting books. Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly gross margin reports by product, customer, and various Business Units for each company in the group. Review cost allocation assumptions and rates. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or cost management Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be advantageous 5 – 10 years proven experience as Cost Accountant Knowledge and understanding of the Apparel or Textile manufacturing industry and its suppliers and vendors would be advantageous Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics Understanding of organizational accounting concepts Strong financial analysis skills Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software Ability to perform risk and security assessments In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening Collaboration and teamwork Market Related – Negotiable depending on experience Convenient location in Cape Town
