Senior Data and Vehicle Support Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Job Description:
Evaluate and test telematics solutions by integrating hardware and software components
Setup, configure, and maintain telematics solutions and data dashboards
Aid in the development of API and data management interfaces for backend solutions
Oversee data processing and offer analytical support to clients and engineering teams as required
Document, validate, and test telematics functionalities, including UDS and OTA capabilities
Work closely with backend solution providers across project implementation, testing, and maintenance stages
Assist in designing, establishing, and maintaining data dashboards and user interfaces
Lead enhancements in telematics systems, integrating cutting-edge technologies aligned with automotive industry standards and advancements
Skills & Experience:
Extensive hands-on experience with telematics systems and components, including expertise in data management and dashboard operations
5 to 10+ years of professional experience
Installation and management of Linux-based software on telematics hardware
Ability to analyze vehicle log data to support client reports and electric vehicle architecture design
Proficient use of Matlab for data processing tasks
Familiarity with Cybersecurity and Over-the-Air (OTA) principles is beneficial
Knowledge of J1939 CAN communication protocols and associated testing tools and equipment
Qualification:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering (B Eng. or M Eng.)
