Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Job Description:
Defining the breadth of work required
Generating and updating detailed bills of materials and their corresponding 3D models
Efficiently managing product data
Crafting 3D components and 2D part drawings to meet supplier and regulatory guidelines
Collaborating with global suppliers and clients to refine design concepts
Facilitating thorough concept and design assessments
Mastering CAD software and PLM systems
Supporting customers in their day-to-day operations
Innovating to offer practical solutions for cost reduction, service enhancements, and product refinement
Coordinating with materials and procurement teams on new part design and sourcing
Collaborating with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize material usage and manufacturing processes
Ensuring product designs adhere to governmental regulations, restrictions, and codes in conjunction with Product Regulation and Compliance teams
Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience in Mechanical design engineering
3D CAD experience
Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
Qualification:
BEng Degree or BTech Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
