Mechanical Lead Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Job Description:
Lead and develop a high-performing mechanical design team, offering crucial technical guidance and mentorship
Work closely with customers to grasp their project needs and allocate design resources effectively, while delegating tasks based on project requirements
Manage project timelines, address deviations, and ensure designs meet all specifications and standards
Direct internal and external design reviews to verify technical accuracy and ensure alignment with project goals
Handle CAD design tasks, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation, and maintain accurate product data in PDM systems
Support custom engineering requests, prioritize project tasks, and manage administrative duties such as performance reviews
Achieve team goals, promote high employee satisfaction, and secure positive customer feedback on project outcomes
Ensure projects adhere to timelines, minimize delays, and optimize resource utilization
Resolve design issues, ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards, and improve design accuracy
Engage in leadership development, enhance planning strategies, and commit to ongoing skill enhancement and best practices in design and project management
Skills & Experience:
With 7 to 10 years of post-graduate experience in engineering design, preferably in the automotive industry
Capable of international travel for varying lengths of time as project demands dictate
Skilled in CAD design, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
Proficient in maintaining accurate product data within customer PDM systems
Qualification:
B Eng, BSc or BTech degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
