Senior Drama Online Editor - South Africa

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drama Online Editor to join our dynamic post-production team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in online television final editing and quality control (QC) and must be proficient in using Avid. The Senior Drama Online Editor will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of post-production quality for our drama series.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform final online editing for drama series, ensuring all edits are precise and meet the creative vision of the production.
- Conduct thorough quality control (QC) checks to identify and correct any technical or visual issues.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other members of the post-production team to achieve the desired final product.
- Implement feedback from creative reviews and make necessary adjustments to edits.
- Ensure all deliverables meet broadcast standards and technical specifications.
- Manage and organize project files, media, and assets efficiently within Avid.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the editing process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in editing technology and techniques.
- Manage activities and out-put of 4 Junior Editors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in online television final editing and quality control (QC).
- Proficiency in Avid editing software.
- Strong understanding of post-production workflows and broadcast standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for visual and technical quality.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working on drama series is highly desirable.
- A creative mindset with the ability to bring stories to life through precise and impactful editing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other editing software and tools.
- Background in colour grading and audio mixing.
- Understanding of VFX and compositing.
