Senior Mechanical / Petrochemical Engineer Well established National Consulting Engineering Firm has a vacancy for a MECHANICAL ENGINEER the experience in the Petrochemical Industry . Oil and gas, or non-building, related experience as well as Fire fighting systems outside of building or HVAC will be required/essential. The successful Candidate will be Responsible for mechanical engineering design in the field of petrochemical projects. Potential for lead mechanical engineer role together with supervision of junior staff members. Responsible for mechanical engineering calculations, designs, drawings, solutions to engineering problems, preparation of reports, client liaison, construction knowledge and commissioning. Key Qualifications: B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) or BEng PrEng advantageous Personality Profile: Very high level of attention to detail specifically regarding mechanical installations Self-motivated Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team Ability to manage junior staff members Job Requirements : 8-10 Years Experience in Mechanical Engineering 5 Years Petrochemical Industry exp Strong understanding of piping and pumping systems Competence in designing mechanical systems and knowledge of hydraulics required • Preparation of conceptual designs and detailed designs including drawings, calculations, project schedules, cost estimates and datasheets. Knowledge of tender processes regarding mechanical projects Construction experience with respect to the installation of mechanical systems Knowledge of applicable mechanical engineering codes such as ASME, API, SANS etc. Ability to travel to site for site inspections, kick-off meetings, progress meetings. Ability to liaise with key clients regarding mechanical designs Knowledge of commissioning of mechanical systems Mentorship of junior staff members in mechanical engineering Assist with management of projects and staff members Previous experience within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry would be an advantage Previous experience with NFPA and firefighting systems would be an advantage Excellent Package Offered.
