Senior Project Manager - Johannesburg
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Engineering, or similar
- Project management certification or qualification
- Valid driver’s license
- Own Car
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 6+ years’ experience in an Engineering or Construction environment
- 3+ years’ experience in project management of PV projects
- Must have completed projects that are 5MWp or bigger
- Exposure to PV projects exceeding 20MWp advantageous
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Program and schedule management
- Budget control
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding and application of PMP framework
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contract review and administration
- Assist the SHE department with risk assessments, file creations, auditing, and compliance during project execution
- Facilitating grid connection applications to relevant authorities
- Internal and external communications with stakeholders, ensuring clear and actionable outcomes
- Construction team liaison/subcontractor management
- Ensuring schedules and the overarching project program are adhered to.
- Liaison with engineers and draftsman during preliminary and detailed design
- Compiling and tracking of Project Budgets and ensuring targeted GP is maintained
- Compiling and managing project documentation, alongside the Project Administrator resources
- Site investigations, meetings, and inspections on a monthly basis
- Ensuring construction activities comply with internal Quality standards and controls
- Technical support and client liaison including troubleshooting
- Foresee, identify, and action risks using the correct protocols
