Critical to the achievement of this is the leadership of the Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager takes accountability at an operational level for the planning and delivery of the project / scope of work assigned. Responsible to ensure: Effective safety leadership and behavior modelling for the project team, contractors and construction workforce. The development of an integrated plan (for the scope of work) incorporating all stakeholders and technical functions and in line with Company standards. Set-up of required controls to ensure delivery against these standards and the objectives as defined in the project charter. Effective leadership of cross-functional teams in line with the Company values. Transparent reporting of progress to stakeholders. Safety, Health & Environment Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities. • Act as a safety leader to reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health is paramount • Identify specific risks within working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/system to avoid these risks • Embed critical controls into daily work practices • Implement Safety & Health systems within work area Performance & Delivery Business Expectations Operational Planning Work Management • Manage/coordinate the project team of specialists to deliver to expectation • Manager the project charter, scope, deliverables, budget and schedule • Manage the external stakeholders e.g. EPCMs, owner team specialists, DMR etc. • Manage and integrate the interface between all stakeholders in project execution • Manage multi-discipline study teams during front end loading phases • Participate in project assurance reviews at stage gates • Manage reporting on project progress and monitor progress versus plan Feedback • Reports &Audits • Standards • Technical feedback • Problem solving • Turnaround time Sustainability & Social • Support delivery of the relevant sustainability activities on a Business Unit level • Input into Company Business Unit-level cross-functional integration on sustainability • Contribute to building relationships with key stakeholders relevant to the discipline on a Business Unit level, ensuring engagements are consistent with Business Unit and Group sustainability initiatives and standards People & Teams • Support the development of, and ultimately implement, a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the teams that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity o Act as a role model and actively engage as a team member in all team processes o Ensure that the discipline specific systems, symbols and behaviors reinforce desired culture and align with Company values o Participate in day-to-day communications with teams Compliance • Ensure compliance of the discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements • Ensure compliance of the discipline with Company's compliance requirements • Develop required compliance governance in the context of the discipline on a Business Unit level Education and Qualification: A relevant degree, or higher, in a relevant Engineering/Technical/Construction discipline, is essential. Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP). Advantageous to have a business qualification. Certificate of Fitness. Requirements: Experience, Knowledge & Skills. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of mining projects, preferably within the Refinery/Smelter/Process environment is essential. Advantages to have a business qualification. Advantageous to have experience of level 9 collision avoidance systems. Operations: o Senior Management level: Mining, Logistics, Plant Processing Knowledge, Infrastructure knowledge o Key value drivers across value chain and interdependence of key levers o Principles and elements of the Operating Model focusing on Work Management and its implications on the discipline o Project management fundamentals o New technologies and their impact on operational activities within scope of role. o Business improvement tools and techniques Commercial: o Commercial/business drivers in discipline, business performance variability and underlying causes that define subsequent actions o Basic financial metrics, cost, and value management & budgeting tools Management: o Risk management techniques and critical controls o Value chain management within discipline, and awareness of interdependencies across value chain steps o Leadership tools for creating a culture of purpose–led high performance and change o Aligned with Company's organization model concepts and principles Compliance: o Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory, and permitting requirements Requirements: Task This is a key role within the Stay in Business (SIB) Team and the candidate will be responsible to: Coordinate all the activities associated from the concept phase through execution into closeout. Manage all the projects within the control's principles. Understand project scopes and dissemination thereof. Implementation and the management of all the safety aspects of the projects. Display effective people and contractor management. Manage the social performance aspects of the projects which include inclusive procurement and community participation. Ensure adherence to all the legislative and permitting requirements for each specific project. Management and engagement with all relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Ensure that all project risk management is implemented throughout the project life cycle. Manage and implementation of all the resource requirements. Ensure delivery of all projects within the required quality criteria. Project Management Mining, Process Plant, Logistics, Infrastructure, Quantity Surveyor, Town Planning Enterprise Project Management Systems, e.g. MS-Projects, Primavera P6, Prism, SAP, Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
