A large food manufacturing company in Cato Ridge (KZN) is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join the Quality Assurance Management Department, who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control and food safety. Ensure that our products meet regulatory standards, are safe for consumption, maintain FSSC 22000 accreditation and sustain the highest level of quality. Lead, develop, and manage, high impact tasks and projects, from conception through to commissioning. Project Planning/Timelines Define project goals, objectives, and deliverables. Develop project plan outlining tasks, timelines, and resource allocation. Develop strategy and outputs, and policies and procedures for project control team. Ensure signed off charter. Ensure effective project controls through accurate assessment of internal and external resources. Communicate vision and strategic goals, and ensure customer expectations are realistic and can be met. Resource forecasting. Forecast costing and cash flow planning. Assign roles and responsibilities to team members, ensuring resources are distributed effectively – optimal allocation and productivity. Participate in cross functional planning processes with accountability for implementing in all areas. Create, and maintain, project management calendar. Budget Adherence Monitor and control project expenses for all Projects to stay within the allocated budget. Track, and update, expenses against budget and in relation to milestones/ project progress. Continuous drive toward cost optimisation, profitability improvement, cost reduction, increased efficiency, and maximising plant productivity. Resource Allocation Prepare, organise and distribute necessary project materials. Develop and fill projects control organisational structure. Performance management of individuals, and quality review of delivery from internal and external resources, within the projects, structure control. Communication Management Facilitate communication, weekly project status updates, within the project team, ensuring everyone is informed about their tasks, progress, and any changes. Measure and report on performance and project status weekly, monthly, and quarterly to senior management. Analyse project data and produce progress reports, providing continuous project progress reporting to senior management. Cost report that includes all risks and change and reflects the remaining contingencies and risk allowance. Team Productivity Accurately assess and appoint correct team for various projects to ensure best value is achieved. Continuous assessment of team productivity and performance and make necessary adjustments: Measure adherence to timelines and deadlines, and make necessary adjustments if required - break into manageable tasks and set time frames and goals. Supervising staff and contractors on site when/ if required. Designing, developing and conducting time studies and work simplification programs. Lead, supervise, motivate and develop project teams. Measuring adherence to timelines and deadlines. Problem Resolution Time Evaluate and manage how quickly and effectively the various Project Manager addresses and resolves issues. Maintaining and completing KPI's. Quality, effectiveness and timely delivery of project control deliverables. Project Scope Adherence Calculate project metrics – quality assurance, profits, and losses – and monitor the project's alignment with the initially defined scope and objectives. Risk Management Conduct risk analysis prior to project start. Identify potential risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate risk. Ensure adherence and compliance to internal and external guidelines, systems (CMMS), policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. Address and close out audit findings for project control. Implement sustainability goals and measures in departments for safety, health and environment. General: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation: plans. progress reports. user requirement specifications. scope of work development. project planning and costing. cash flow planning, risk management. integration. commissioning and Project close out. Accuracy and timely delivery of cost reports and cost forecast. Manage the forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, capex and reporting process the projects department. Know-How, Technical Skills and Experience 5 years project management experience, with proven track record. Meat industry knowledge and/ or experience highly advantageous. 2 years' experience in capital project estimating, planning and project scheduling. 2 years' experience in capital project estimating, planning, and scheduling, and 2 years' experience in operations in large project environment (preferably in FMCG or manufacturing environment). Behavioral Competencies/Personal characteristics Strong Technical Competence, previous hands-on experience in construction or engineering environment advantageous. Self-Driven and motivated. High Work Ethic. Analytical with strong planning and organizational skills. Result and deadline driven. Strong leadership skills and ability. High integrity: Ability to inform stakeholders of deviations on risks of projects Ability to suspend projects if they pose risk to the business Ability to suspend activities if contractors are not compliant Market related.
