Role purpose: Responsible for companies Group technology spectrum strategy and supporting implementation of these strategies through short term and long term plans. Responsible for driving Technology support for spectrum execution initiatives such as ITA/Auctions and Partnerships agreements for wide scale network introduction.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

Grade 12 is essential
A 3 year B.Sc Electrical/Electronic or Engineering Diploma is essential
5 8 years experience in Spectrum is essential
Eng/ M.Sc Eng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering will be advantageous but not necessary.

Mathematical & Network Modelling knowledge (in Excel & Matlab using databases)
Spectrum experience
Technical Regulation experience
Access Technology Knowledge & Experience
Strategic thinking
Spectrum modelling (long term forecasting of each markets spectrum requirements according to different scenarios).
Group Spectrum strategy (Using forecast requirements, define and update as required on companies Group spectrum strategy specifying opportunities for optimization of existing assets through re-farming and other techniques, and defining roadmap of new spectrum acquisition opportunities and support execution thereof).
Responsible for representing technology in regulatory investigations as required providing technical consultation services relating to spectrum (e.g: evaluation of impacts from regulatory consultations and development of counter proposals, support on other generic technology regulatory issues).
