We are a growing MSP to companies in SA and across the globe and are seeking an experienced and service-driven Senior Network Engineer. Responsibilities will include designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the LAN, Global WAN networks and security solutions to ensure maximum uptime for our customers environments whilst maintaining security protocols compliance. The role will be key to the delivery of high-quality technical support for the business and the customer, whilst delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and a personalised service. This position requires strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical skills using various diagnostic tools. In addition, strong interpersonal skills are required to guide customers through situations, providing the highest levels of resolution, support, and customer satisfaction. Review network security threat logs for intrusions and compromises and provide solutions Write well designed, efficient, and readable process documentation following technical documentation standards Configuring and Managing Fortinet Devices. Configuring and Managing Cisco ASA Next generation firewalls with firepower. Support and maintain existing network infrastructure adhering to SLAs Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAPs, DNS and DHCP Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation and advanced troubleshooting Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting Scheduling of installations and upgrades Monitor and respond to security incidents and tickets Updating/patching of network equipment to the latest firmware and OS releases Implementation and Monitoring of on-premises and Cloud integrations e.g., AWS, Azure Provide input to, and maintain incident response plans, RCAs, BCP and DRP Monthly operational and security incident reports Review and ongoing assessment of network posture and components, IDS, IPS, SIEM, VPN, SSL, - - application controls and other network policies and controls. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. Degree/Diploma in IT Advanced skills working on FortiGate (HA and stand-alone) Forti Manager Forti Analyzer Forti-VPN Cloudflare Cisco Meraki Switches and WAPs HP and Aruba switches and WAPs Strong understanding of network protocols/services/technologies like BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, NAT, SD-WAN, IP-Sec Tunnels Excellent understanding of security issues and associated with operating systems, networking and virtualization software, cloud (MS365 and AWS) applications and identity and access management. Good understanding of VoIP Have an in-depth understanding of security standards and global practices. Excellent ability to articulate security concepts verbally and in written format. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Valid FortiGate certificate. CISCO Network Accreditation (optional) Microsoft Security Professional IT-related NQF6 qualification or equivalent experience coupled with industry certifications Market related
