Senior Technical Manager - East London

Applications are invited from suitably qualified internal candidates who meet the following job specifications. Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the Engineering and Maintenance departments to ensure proper implementation of both departments requirements to meet customer requirements. Responsibilities: • Oversee both Engineering and Maintenance department to maximize full capacity. • Liaise with the customers regarding product and process specific requirements. • Develop and maintain the plant layout and process flows to create the best optimized process area to be effective and efficient • Develop project plans and project costing data. • Develop APQP plans for implementation to ensure the best possible process specifications are met • Controls Engineering, project and APQP meetings. • Oversee departmental responsibilities for engineering changes and development programs. • Oversee process related downtime and find ways to eliminate this. • Improve processes to reduce scrap energy and other related matters to ensure a cost saving drive within the department. • Develop and implement engineering systems and maintenance procedures. • Manage the implementation various programs and projects in both Engineering and Maintenance departments. • Effectively manage subordinates and resources. • Prepare engineering product information for quotation purposes. • Liaise with the customers and suppliers regarding related technical issues. • Ensure the company vision is upheld at all levels • Ensure adequate staffing and direct subordinates to achieve relevant goals timeously • Plan resources and budgets • Responsible for training, coaching, and guidance of subordinates • Monitor, manage and report on the performance of the Engineering function • Planning, organizing, controlling skills • Critical thinking and innovation • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Required Education: • Minimum degree/diploma with qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. • PLC experience will be an added advantage. • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar environment. • Minimum of 10 years managerial experience. • Familiar with project management principles Preference will be given to candidates with Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Apply Now
