Senior Vehicle Architecture Engineer - Pretoria
Job Description:
Lead and oversee advanced powertrain projects to meet client specifications
Develop vehicle architecture and infrastructure for cutting-edge powertrain systems
Manage supplier identification, evaluation, and integration for seamless component incorporation
Create and enforce test and validation protocols to achieve on-time project completion within defined parameters
Ensure technical product performance adheres to specified requirements
Mentor and inspire a team of engineers, designers, and technical experts
Establish clear performance expectations, offer regular feedback, and conduct evaluations
Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes knowledge sharing, creativity, and professional advancement
Identify and implement training opportunities to enhance team members' technical proficiency
Drive innovation and formulate strategies for alternative drive solutions, ensuring compliance with local and international labor laws and safety standards
Develop vehicle specifications based on selected components, ensuring adherence to ISO26262 safety standards, including ASIL D
Contribute to the formulation of strategies for alternative drive solutions
Define requirements specifications and vehicle architecture
Lead the process of identifying and evaluating suppliers
Develop and execute test and validation protocols
Direct engineers to meet technical requirements and ensure successful project outcomes
Skills & Experience:
Over a decade of relevant engineering development experience
Exceptional attention to detail and skilled in task management
Thrives in high-pressure environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Extensive technical expertise in automotive engineering principles, processes, and industry standards
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team oversight and guidance
Proficient in engineering project management methodologies and tools
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation capabilities
Strategic thinker with advanced problem-solving abilities
Effective in dynamic and fast-paced work environments
Qualification:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous
