Overview
International company based in Cape Town seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Settlements Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing all aspects of securities settlements, including trade confirmations, trade allocations, and trade discrepancies.
Salary: Market related
Area: Cape Town (and some hybrid working)
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Confirm and allocate trades with counterparties and internal departments.
Ensure all trades are settled on time and in accordance with established guidelines.
Resolve trade discrepancies and communicate with internal and external parties to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all settlements.
Monitor and analyse settlement activity to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Provide support to other departments as needed.
Any other duties as the business requires.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification
3-5 years experience in Settlements
Key Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working with global securities and financial markets.
Ability to think out of the box using initiative.
Ability to work well independently and in a team.
Capable of organising and structuring workload - Self starter
Flexible with the ability to multitask on various levels.
Solid understanding of settlements, trading and the markets
Any other duties as the business requires.
Proficient in MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel
Knowledge of Strate, JSE and international markets in respect of settlements
