Effectively manage the day-to-day operation and manufacture of Steel Wire Rope.Ensuring that all safety standards and requirements are complied with.Specifically focuses on productivity of employees, timeous execution and quality product outputs. Closely monitors production on the shop floor by being visible. Engaging with operators, identifying production and quality problems and immediately alerting the relevant parties to implement the necessary corrective action. Ensures that there is 3 days of feed on all machines. Ensures 3 days job cards die sets are ready on all machines, daily all the time. Ensures job cards are filled in timeously and adhered to. Identify barriers to the achievement of production, quality and safety objectives and targets. Manages subordinates key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards. Applying action to correct deviations to achieve the departments objectives. Ensures subordinates adherence to the disciplinary code of conduct and apply corrective action to correct co-ordinates the sections workload and sets and adjusts individual objectives to achieve the objectives. Identify training and development needs to develop transgressions by appropriate disciplinary action. Plans and develop subordinates time and set quality objectives for the department. Ensure adherence to safety, health and environment objectives for the department. Ensure adherence to SWR quality policy and members fully comply with all documented production, quality and safety requirements, including all relevant standards operating procedures. Qualification: Grade 12 Diploma in Production/Manufacturing Management Experience and skills required: Experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment. 5-10 years relevant plant production experience. Steel industry experience is essential. Must be computer literate and have work knowledge of MS Office Package. Must have good level of technical knowledge/strong ability to investigate product failures & incidents and implement corrective actions. Ability to lead a tam of employees. Market Related
