The construction site purchaser/buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for various construction projects. The construction site purchaser/buyer works closely with the project managers, site managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of the required supplies. The construction site purchaser/buyer also maintains records of orders, invoices, and payments, and monitors the quality and performance of the suppliers. Research and identify potential suppliers of materials, equipment, and services for construction projects. Request and compare quotations, specifications, and delivery terms from various suppliers. Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers, ensuring compliance with the project budget and specifications. Place orders and confirm delivery dates, quantities, and quality of the purchased items Track and manage the inventory of materials and equipment on site, and coordinate with the site managers and contractors to avoid shortages or delays. Review and approve invoices and payments, and resolve any issues or disputes with the suppliers. Evaluate and monitor the performance and quality of the suppliers, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement. Keep accurate and updated records of orders, deliveries, payments, and supplier evaluations. Follow the company's policies and procedures, and adhere to the health and safety regulations and standards. This list includes but is not limited to the above responsibilities. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a purchaser/buyer in the construction or Hardware industry. A relevant diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and other relevant software and tools. Knowledge of the construction materials, equipment, and services market and suppliers. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks and projects. Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality. Work experience in hospitality and solar procurement is advantageous A valid driver's license and own transport 28000 - 30000 Monthly (ZAR)
