Main purpose of the job: The individual will be registered under the SAIPA trainee program and obtain competencies as required by SAIPA in line with the applicable academic graduate program for SAIPA trainees. Key responsibilities: Preparation and completion of monthly management accounts Preparation and completion of monthly/annual financial statements. Perform reviews on financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards. Completion of monthly tax compliance matters on behalf of clients: Vat, and Paye Completion of annual tax compliance matters on behalf of clients: Individual and company tax Returns, Provisional tax returns, EMP 501 compliance Ongoing communication with clients Reporting directly to line managers and Directors within service line. Knowledge: Matric B. Com Accounting Degree (average pass mark of 65%) Computer Literate (MS Office) Keep abreast of legislation changes Experience: First year trainees – No experience required Second year trainees – One year training experience Third year trainees – Two years training experience Personal Competencies Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Team player, approachable, receptive to feedback from others, ability to work with others Ability to work in a culture diverse environment Negotiation skills Ability to handle conflicts Presentation skills Good listening skills, actively clarifying what has been communicated to ensure understanding.
