Specialist: Element Management Systems (EMS) - Cape Town City Centre
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain network element management systems like Huawei U2020/U2000, Huawei NCE, Huawei NetEco, and Nokia NetAct.
- Ensure the optimal performance and reliability of these systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, backups, and system checks.
- Set up, deploy and manage north-bound interfaces such as CORBA and SNMP.
- Ensure seamless communication between network element managers and other network components.
- Utilize strong knowledge of Linux/ Unix systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network element managers.
- Develop and implement scripts and automation tools to streamline maintenance and management tasks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with network element managers like Huawei U202/U2000, Huawei NCE, Huawei NetEco, and Nokia NetAct.
- Strong expertise in Linuz/ Unix systems, including kernel development and system administration.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices.
- At least 5 years' experience in network element management, with a focus on Linux/Unix based systems.
- Nice to have: Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) or equivalent.
