Client based in Pretoria is looking for Storeman. The Storeman plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory, managing consumables, and ensuring a safe and organized workplace. They are responsible for overseeing tooling, personal protective equipment (PPE), and general consumables Inventory Management: Keep track of tooling inventory, ensuring minimum and maximum levels are maintained. Conduct monthly stock takes to reconcile tooling quantities. Manage consumables (e.g., bolts, nuts) to prevent shortages. PPE Management: Maintain a PPE register. Conduct regular walks to collect any PPE left lying around and return it to the store. Clearly mark all issued PPE to identify recipients. Replace lost or stolen PPE (with the responsible person covering the cost). Toolbox Maintenance: Maintain the company tooling register. Perform monthly stock takes on Setters' and Maintenance toolboxes. Hold toolbox owners accountable for lost or broken tooling replacement costs. Night Shift Preparation: Manage stock levels in the toolbox designated for night shift. Conduct daily stock takes and ensure accurate records of consumables and PPE issued. Tool Return Process: Use the issue register for grinders and drills. Inspect returned tools for good working condition. Report any issues promptly. General Housekeeping: Assist with overall factory housekeeping. Conduct daily walkthroughs to remove unused tooling and PPE. Semi-skilled with manufacturing experience. Basic computer literacy. Ambitious and detail-oriented. Neat and organized. Must have reliable transportation. Willingness to work overtime when necessary. Openness to learning and adapting.
