My client is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Finance Manager to join their team and drive excellence in cost management and inventory control. If you're a detail-oriented individual with a passion for optimizing processes and ensuring financial transparency, we want to hear from youThis role is based in Durban, South Coast.Key Responsibilities: Set and Monitor Standard Costs: Utilize a fully absorbed, activity-based model in collaboration with Procurement and Operations to establish and oversee standard costs. This includes costings for new products and revisions to existing costs. Accurate Bill of Materials Management: Ensure timely and precise loading of new and amended bill of materials to support production efficiency. Performance Reporting: Weekly reporting on factory performance, including current month's performance and forecasted performance, allowing for proactive decision-making. Order Management: Review and follow up on open and long outstanding orders to maintain optimal inventory levels and supplier relationships. Month-End Reporting: Provide accrual lists, ensure adherence to cut-off transactions, and validate GL accounts for accurate month-end reporting. Prepare necessary documentation to support adjusting journals. Cost Variance Management: Manage daily cost variances, escalating material items to site management for resolution. Monthly reporting on material cost variances, over/under recoveries, and improvement projects. Cost Control and Budgeting: Support department heads with cost control, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Perform revisions or simulations as needed to ensure financial targets are met. Financial Transparency: Ensure full visibility of costs and the financial impact of major decisions across factories. Evaluate investment proposals and conduct sensitivity analysis to ensure expected returns. Internal Controls and Audit Support: Ensure adequacy and compliance of internal controls, supporting audit processes, and implementing audit recommendations. Take ownership of control self-assessment program. Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and actively contribute to improvement projects. Review and validate proposed savings to drive operational efficiency. Inventory and Fixed Assets Management: Support FSSC with inventory and fixed assets balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure integrity of stock takes and adherence to standard operating procedures. Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and support to cost accountant and cost analysts, ensuring the integrity and timely delivery of their outputs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Completed CIMA designation (non-negotiable). Proven experience in cost and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing/factory environment. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
