Reference: DBN003594-RC-1 A global pharmaceutical company has a position available for a Technical Lead and Project Manager. The role has primary responsibility for defining, planning, tracking and managing the project they are assigned. He/she is responsible for identifying key resources and providing the direction required for meeting the project objectives. The incumbent also must be able to manage project schedule and task details and utilize project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling mechanisms and to delegate appropriately. Key Objectives of this Role: Ensure the delivery of projects into production with the highest level of quality, compliance, and adherence to timelines Plan, coordinate and drive new product launch activities Plan, coordinate and drive product reformulation and product improvement activities Plan, coordinate and drive test method development and validation activities Lead and coordinate all technology transfer projects Lead technical problem-solving initiatives (including investigation and correction of product stability and manufacturing failures) Work with commercial teams locally and globally to look at group strategic opportunities Define the project management process to be applied to the project and prepare the project plan He/she must be able to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision-making Responsibilities: Technical Responsibilities: Review product formulations together with the Marketing team Liase with Regional Technical Operations and CMO's (contract manufacturing organisations) to ensure that Critical to Quality characteristics are agreed and documented for all new and reformulated products Investigate raw material incompatibilities within a formulation and propose alternative materials Assiting with the procurement of raw materials and packaging materials Drive and co-ordinate test method validation activities at the EMO Compile and ensure execution of process validation protocols for new products/reformulated products/current products Compile and ensure the execution of hold time study protocols and temperature cycling studies for new products/reformulated products/current products Communicate in a timely fashion all information regarding formulation changes, project status, results, etc. to all appropriate individuals (QA, RA, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.) Project Management Responsibilities: Apply project resources according to the approved project plan Assure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities Analyze risk and instigate avoidance activities: establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action Track and report on progress to plan: analyze the actual performance against the plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives Keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues Manage and obtain approval for project costs, including the costs for reformulation, trial batches, method development, method validation, stability, process validation, packaging validation, etc. Be responsible for all projects submitted for global approval Marketing Assistance with Innovation Responsibilities: Work closely with the marketing team to align product formulations with market trends, consumer needs, and brand positioning Provide technical expertise and insights during the conceptualization phase to ensure that product formulations meet both regulatory and market expectations Support the creation of the initial P&L's by providing data on expected volumes, COGS. Key performance areas: ROI Group hurdle rate compliance Business financial impact Business performance measure impact Milestones completed on-time Milestones completed on-budget Stakeholder perception of value Stakeholder participation Qualifications: Pharm degree and registered as practicing pharmacist with SAPC. Tertiary qualification in Project Management is an advantage.
