Technical Sales Consultant Market Related - Midrand

Purpose of the Job To achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned region (/or market segment) by effectively selling the company's products and related services to existing and prospective customers to grow the business. Servicing Customers and Maintaining Relationships Establish, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned region (or market segment). Provide information on the company's products and services to existing and potential customers and by finding out their requirements, assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs. Make telephone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers. Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints. Coordinates sales efforts with sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups. Analyse the territory and market potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers to the company. Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share, and value opportunities. Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential (including using Data build). Schedule visits to important customers regularly. Develop clear and effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers. Providing Information on Sales to Management Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services. Stay current with the latest technology, new product developments, technical services, and specifications through discussions with colleagues and attending relevant training sessions. Keep abreast with market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends by reading pertinent literature and consulting with marketing areas. Participate in trade shows and conventions. Identify advantages and compare the company's products and services. Sales Admin Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory (/or segment). Responsible for maintaining travel and entertainment costs Key Performance Areas Calling on existing customer base Obtaining new business Call on Office Buyers Calling on Site Managers, Project Managers and Contracts Managers Preparation of quotations and Delivery to Prospective Customers Assistance in sorting out problems on invoices Delivery and collection of equipment Creation of turnover and generation of revenue Facilitation and collection of completed Credit Application Forms Assistance with Debtors Collections Obtaining signatures from site on all invoicing Delivering of all invoices and statements to Customers Building and maintenance of Client Relations Desired Skills Planning Organizing Time Management Communication Microsoft Office Marketing or relevant qualification Matric/ Grade 12 3- 5 years technical sales experience Cold Calling experience Be willing to learn and adapt to change. Experience in automotive industry advantageous. Experience in selling industrial machinery will be advantageous.
