A leading geosynthetic solutions provider, has a key Sales position to fill in the Eastern Cape regional office, based in East London. Due to continued company growth, we seek to appoint a suitably experienced Sales Representative. Ideally, the candidate should come from a Building or Civil Engineering Sales background. Intensive product and application training will be provided to the successful candidate. Minimum Requirements for the position: Diploma in Civil Engineering Have a high ethical standard in doing business 5 year's work experience in the relevant field, or Technical Sales experience in similar markets Must be able to work remotely, be prepared to travel extensively, with regular overnight away from home Must have effective time management skills and maintain an up-to-date, accurate logbook of visits, projects, contacts, opportunities identified, work secured and project draw-off Be self-motivated and have good inter-personal, presentation- and communication skills Have computer literacy on various MS Office packages Possess good numerical and negotiation skills (margins, costs, discounts, volumes) Have a strong analytical mind and problem solving ability (maths is a necessity) Must be target driven and able to cope with high pressure Must have good interpersonal skills; be able to build relations; build rapport with people and create business relationships Must have good negotiating skills, be able to defend margins and close sales efficiently Must have a minimum of Code 8 driver licence Be proficient in English and Xhosa essential Key areas of responsibility: Regularly visit construction sites with the following objectives - Secure product sales; Identify opportunities for product/application alternatives Build and maintain relationship with estimator/buyer/contracts manager Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained including managing logistics and supply needs Maintain and follow up on tenders and project awards Maintain a comprehensive project database Visit client bodies (local & district municipalities, provincial authorities and national government bodies) Revisit existing clients and identify and build relationships with new personnel related to Company's field of product supply (ie SCM & technical dept) Educate and advise on products and applications Source information on in-house construction units, annual contractors and material supply tenders Identify and develop new customers and sustain relationships with existing customers Follow up on new and existing business opportunities, particularly with cash customers and smaller contractors Should you not hear back from us within 7 days, kindly take your application as unsuccessful.
