We are looking for a MECHANICAL PRESS TECHNICIAN in White River, Mpumalanga Perform critical maintenance, fault finding and repair work on the four press lines including the pre-presses for the raw board lines Plan essential maintenance and scheduled replacement of parts and components with limited functional life Conduct scheduled inspections and servicing of presses including critical lubrication Plan and perform critical maintenance of press protection systems and report any deviations Read and interpret technical information related to the equipment and perform work to OEM standard Fault finding and implementation of corrective and preventative measures Conduct fault finding and assist in repairs on electrical and instrumentation systems Ensure that a list of critical spares including valves, pumps and filters are available and updated together with a set of hydraulic schematics for the presses Conduct store inspection to assess the stock levels of the critical spare as well as inspection of repaired critical items Ensure orders are placed for spares and maintenance stock items as required Plan and perform annual maintenance shuts with OEM technicians and obtain condition reports for the following budget cycle planning Obtain quotations and prepare motivation for exceptional expenditure related to the equipment for approval Grade 12 with N4 - N6 and Trade Tested (Millwright/ Technician) or Tertiary qualification (S4) Minimum 4 years specialist applied knowledge of proportional hydraulic systems and fault finding, with formal training in hydraulic systems Own reliable transport and valid passenger vehicle drivers licence Computer literate in MS Office Sound health with a valid certificate of fitness (or willingness to undergo a medical) and willingness to work on standby HIGHLY BENEFICIAL IF YOU ALSO HAVE: a valid Forklift drivers licence and knowledge of SAP PM Computer package. PLEASE NOTE THAT CANDIDATES WHO ARE WILLING TO RELOCATE WILL ALSO BE CONSIDERED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: • Advanced Hydraulics (Proportional valves and electronic controls) • Hydraulic accumulators • Advanced Hydraulic, Advance Pneumatic • Air compressor knowledge • Lubrication, Mechanical seal knowledge, and thermal oil pumps • Bearing fitment & pre-loading • Valve types and repairs • Lubrication (high temp. applications) • Brakes & clutches (brake electric motors) • Pipe Fitting & Assembly • Fault finding • Ability to interpret hydraulic drawings • Ability to interpret pneumatic drawings • Ability to interpret P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) • Preventative maintenance system • Knowledge of SCADA and HMI-based control systems and the interface with mechanical & hydraulic systems • Formal training in the application of hydraulic systems Confined space knowledge and experience Working at heights knowledge and experience Fall arrest knowledge and experience Rigging & Slinging knowledge and experience Market Related
