We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager who will play a pivotal role in expanding our transport division through effective business development strategies. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of transportation logistics, coupled with proven expertise in fostering relationships with sub-contracted transporters and executing successful transport brokerage operations. Responsibilities: 1. Business Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's transport division. Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with potential clients. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create effective strategies for acquiring new clients and retaining existing ones. Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote the company's transportation services. 2. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with sub-contracted transporters, ensuring reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions. Negotiate contracts and agreements with transporters to secure favorable terms and conditions. Provide ongoing support and communication to transport partners to ensure adherence to service level agreements and performance standards. Address any issues or concerns raised by transporters in a timely and effective manner. 3. Transport Brokerage: Oversee the brokerage operations, including the coordination of transportation services, scheduling, and dispatching. Evaluate the performance of transporters and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed. Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of brokerage operations. Work closely with the operations team to optimize routes, minimize costs, and maximize profitability. 4. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards governing transportation operations. Implement policies and procedures to mitigate risks associated with transportation activities, such as safety hazards, liability issues, and security concerns. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management, with a focus on business development and growth. Proven track record of successfully expanding business operations and achieving revenue targets. Strong understanding of transportation logistics, including experience with sub-contracted transporters and transport brokerage. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to transportation operations.
