Our client based in the Durban North area is looking for a WordPress Web Developer to join their growing team. Please note, the hours for this role are: 6am - 3pm (Mon - Fri) As a Web Developer, you are here to take ownership of the WordPress technologies and web properties. You are chiefly responsible for helping to build and develop new aspects of the website as well as improve existing sections. This role will be responsible for ongoing maintenance as well as SEO improvements. You will interface with the outsourced design agency to implement designs into a functional and engaging user experience. You will be creating websites based on Gutenberg blocks as well as maintaining best practice engineering. Building and maintaining the website front-end is key for creating a positive user experience from creating brand new pages Developing the website architecture through progressive enhancements and strategic investments in technical upgrades to streamline the management and usability of the WordPress site, while simultaneously enhancing SEO performance metrics. Managing the website back-end including core integrations in conjunction with other teams where applicable to ensure data moves smoothly and company website remains secure and trusted by users Troubleshooting issues as they occur to discover and implement the best fix or most efficient fix to ensure a continuation of service Monitoring website uptime and other core metrics to flag any emerging or current issues so they can be resolved in a timely manner. Own means of reliable transportation Ability to work 6am - 3pm (Mon - Fri) Experience building and maintaining WordPress websites Proficient in front-end languages such as HTML, CSS Bootstrap, JavaScript and React Knowledge of PHP and MySQL databases Proficient knowledge in WCAG 2.0 practices Familiar and have spent at least 2 years implementing SEO best practices from a technical standpoint Ideally have worked in an Agile methodology before Apply Now
