Shooters use our stuff, simply because it's good stuff Shooting Stuff is looking for a self-motivated team-player, who enjoys working pro-actively, with an inner drive to do things right, first time. This opportunity is for a graduate, or experienced webmaster, to help build and maintain our eCommerce websites. The role is focussed on running the website, the look and feel of the website, customers experience. It includes getting products live with the right information, as well as monitoring and maintaining website functionality. There is vast scope for growth. Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately are essential. Good command of English is required, both the spoken and written word. Command of Afrikaans and other languages are beneficial. Experience in the firearms environment is an advantage, but not essential. Can you work in a structured system yet still help us improve it? Shooting Stuff – giving you more time to shoot Concise Job Description: a) Build and maintain Shooting Stuff's eCommerce websites from the front-end; the look and feel. b) Ensure all products are ‘live' to company standards, within stipulated timeframes. c) Monitor the integrity and performance of the websites daily, reacting appropriately to any developments. d) Contribute to an excellent customer experience at Shooting Stuff, especially online. a) Learn the products and services that the companies offer, to be able to ‘offer' these to online clients. b) Help build the companies' impeccable websites that offer all of the companies' products and services, to support the sales team and grow the online eCommerce sales stream. This includes creating product content, photos, promotional banners, etc. c) Monitor the integrity and performance of the websites, ensuring full functionality at all times, and take corrective action where necessary, supported by specialist team members. d) Pass on appropriate enquiries, orders, requests, and approaches to members of the sales team, to ensure that clients receive prompt, efficient and professional service. e) Learn and follow structured internal policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of all aspects of the business and contribute towards continual improvement of these. a) Proven track record as a successful, pro-active, webmaster, with at least five years' experience as a webmaster, part of which might include a development environment, or a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as B.A. Visual Communications, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. IT, or similar. b) Computer literacy is essential, with proficiency in Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc, and a basic capability with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc. c) Experience with Magento II or a similar platform is a distinct advantage, incorporating monitoring tools like New Relic, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Hotjar etc. d) Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is essential. e) Knowledge of and experience with databases would be a distinct advantage. f) Professional command of English is required, both the spoken and written word. Command of Afrikaans and other languages are beneficial. g) Experience with or interest in firearms, hunting, sport shooting or reloading could be an advantage. Any Special Skills: a) Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately are essential. b) Comfortable using technology (social media, smart phones, cameras, computers, …). c) Graphic design is important, with experience in Photoshop an advantage. d) Photography; composing and taking photos as well as post-processing would be an advantage.
