CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT - South Africa

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing budgets effectively to ensure financial stability and optimal allocation of resources.
  • Conducting comprehensive financial audits to assess the financial health of the organization.
  • Providing sound financial advice to support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Liaising with clients, individuals, and businesses to address financial concerns and facilitate effective communication.
  • Analyzing risk factors and implementing strategies to mitigate financial risks.
  • Advising on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Counselling clients on areas of financial improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Liaising with auditors, both internal and external, to facilitate audit processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Producing comprehensive reports and recommendations following financial audits to support informed decision-making.
  • Preparing monthly accounts and conducting variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing the invoicing process efficiently to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Overseeing the duties of the accounting team and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Reviewing accounting systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Reviewing and releasing online banking payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and requirements set forth by the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
  • Providing ongoing accounting and reporting support to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Managing the full financial process from budgeting to financial reporting.

Chartered Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s degree in accounting, with an Honors degree. (CA-SA qualification is mandatory.)
  • Completion of Articles and registration with an accredited statutory body and association.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-article experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in providing financial advice and strategic financial management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead a team of professionals.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
