Location: South Africa (open to opportunities within South Africa or as an expat on the African Continent) Overview: Our clients are seeking a talented and qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa) to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and experience working in various industries within South Africa or on the African continent. The Accountant (CA(SA)) will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial advice to support business objectives. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance and variances. Management Accounting: Provide management with timely and accurate financial information to support decision-making processes. Tax Compliance: Coordinate tax planning initiatives and ensure compliance with tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Audit Management: Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and manage working capital to ensure liquidity and operational stability. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, including investment opportunities, pricing decisions, and cost optimization. Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business objectives. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance. Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting or finance roles. Experience working in various industries within South Africa or on the African continent is highly desirable. Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS and other accounting standards. Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from financial data. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
