Location: South Africa (open to opportunities within South Africa or as an expat on the African Continent) Overview: Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Financial Manager for opportunities in South Africa and within the Continent. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial management and accounting, with a proven track record of success in various industries within South Africa or on the African continent. The Financial Manager will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the organization, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial plans. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and manage working capital to ensure liquidity and support operational needs. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement. Cost Management: Implement cost control measures to manage expenses and improve profitability, including analyzing cost drivers and recommending cost-saving initiatives. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns and liaising with external tax advisors. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure the integrity of financial information. Audit Management: Coordinate the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and addressing any audit findings or recommendations. Financial Planning and Strategy: Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, supporting decision-making processes and long-term planning initiatives. Team Leadership: Manage and develop the finance team, providing mentorship, training, and guidance to ensure high performance and professional growth. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CIMA qualification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices. Experience working in various industries within South Africa or on the African continent is highly desirable. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with experience in tax planning and compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proven leadership ability, with experience in managing and developing teams. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
