A Shopfitting company in Germiston has a vacancy for a Machine Shop Foreman. Please note: This position is open to all South Africa citizens. Scope of job / project: Wood Key Functions: Ensure Health and Safety regulations are adhered to Oversee all shopfitting machines used, no abuse or misuse Oversee repairs, maintenance and services – call out when needed (Will not be required to perform services and repairs) Schedule machines and staff for maximum productivity Coordinate all labor and materials in the machine shop. Identify and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality. Make recommendations on capital expenditures to improve capacity and quality Monitor productivity, utilizing charts and drawings identify and monitor the performance of each machine Track the lifespan and maintenance of machines Plan maintenance and repair schedules Set up alerts and notifications for when machines need maintenance or repair, and Track downtime and production losses due to machine breakdowns. Minimum 8 years' relevant experience Must be able to communicate fluently in English Must have Shopfitting machine experience Essential Functions Thorough understanding of Shopfitting. Read and interpret drawing. Maintaining factory machinery. Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of machines. Following standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines. Carrying out routine maintenance. Fixing machines that have broken down and or follow machine instructions and report. Measuring raw materials and feeding them into the machines. CNC knowledge, operating and understanding. Controlling inventory, Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are available and utilized efficiently. Maintain and update service records, including work orders, repair logs, and customer information, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Skills Communication skills. Leadership skills. Qualifications: Minimum of a completed Matric / Grade 12 certificate, would advantageous Must have basic computer literacy with an ability to learn new programs with relative ease. Experience A minimum of 5- 8 years' experience Working in a Shopfitting environment is essential. Working with the Drawing office is essential. Apply Now
