Our esteemed client is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Ottery Cape Town. They are a leading Digital Ink manufacturing company with a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, they are seeking an incumbent to help maintain the efficiency and reliability of their production facilities Responsibilities: Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, including Pneumatic pumps, centrifuges, compressors, repairing mechanical seals and other machinery to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime. Perform routine inspections and diagnose faults in mechanical systems, identifying issues and determining the most appropriate course of action. Repair, replace, or adjust defective or worn parts, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand equipment specifications and ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repairs. Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and production staff to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production processes. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and associated costs. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance processes. Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of equipment as required. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanical fitter, maintenance technician, or similar role in an industrial setting. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and industry best practices. Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with maintenance management software. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
