What you'll do
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Identify and maintain ideal stock levels per category by ensuring daily stock rotation and timely ordering
- Conduct spot checks for Key Value Items (KVI) and manage returns
- Optimise stock turns and verify orders with the Buyer
- Conduct spot checks for pricing accuracy, update Price Look-Up (PLU) codes daily, and adjust stock prices as needed
- Negotiate deals for quality products and timely ordering
- Execute promotions, including Condola Ends, with accurate ticketing
- Ensure excellent customer service by always prioritising customer needs with a positive attitude, making them feel valued
- Handle customer questions and concerns quickly and effectively
- Use customer feedback to improve our services and products
- Ensure that all staff members provide excellent customer service
- Develop and implement strategies to meet sales and profit goals
- Manage expenses and control shrinkage and wastage within budget limits
- Meet departmental budgets and targets consistently
- Achieve correct stock levels, minimising wastage
- Adjust prices based on market surveys and maintain tidy pricing at all points of sale
- Ensure neat displays, clean premises, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the department
- Assist in hiring and training Merchandising staff
- Efficiently schedule staff, address performance issues, and maintain discipline
- Manage staff attendance, ensuring high rates
- Effectively communicate with HR and management on productivity, staffing, and training
- Keep staff informed of changes to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Handle all administrative tasks promptly and stay up-to-date
- Address additional tasks assigned by management
