Visit www.saflog.co.za to learn more about our business. Key Responsibilities: Manages the day-to-day maintenance activities, assures the smooth and efficient functioning of the site. Weekly and monthly walkdowns with client. Quotations Monthly Rail Inspections and reporting. Conduct (ARICA) Annual Rail Infrastructure Condition Assessment reports according to the MICA for different clients including budgets. Submit annual rail maintenance plans to clients and plan for roaming team to execute work. Support clients with all necessary documents and information regarding the railway safety regulator SMS. Ensuring the achievement of Safety, Health, Quality and Production targets Responsible for compliance to relevant legislation including but not limited to the OHSA, and BCEA Responsible for management and direction of personnel on the mine/site, ensuring the highest standards of performance through training and development Ensuring the implementation of policy and procedures Monitoring overall performance and timeous implementation of corrective actions as per the company business process management protocols Providing input into the annual business planning process and ensures subsequent compliance to the company's business planning. Approves the site plan and is responsible for execution of the site plan Assures that activities are carried out in line with approved SOPs and ensures continual updates and reviews of such SOPs Responsible for ongoing evaluation of all on site processes and the continuous improvement thereof. Recommends continuous improvement projects to the site for implementation. Overseeing team activities to ensure Health and Environmental Safety, Production and Cost targets are met Constantly communicates with management about activities of the various sites (Reports: Daily, weekly). Ensuring compliance: company policies, company code of conduct. Manages site personnel. Submit weekly and monthly reports to Senior Manager on progress, internal and external constraints. Required Qualifications and Skills: Trackmaster Certificate (Rail Construction and Track Maintenance) or HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) Safety Added advantage: Track Inspector Candy (Buildsmart) Required Work Experience: 8 - 10 Years management experience in Rail Construction and Track Maintenance industry. Technical competencies: Influence, persuade and convince knowledge Rail/OHTE & Signaling technologies or equipment Reporting and communication People management Management of budget and planning Familiar with Mining Act and OHSAS Required Skills and Personal Attributes: Must be honest, hardworking, self - motivated Must be customer service centric and result oriented Ability to communicate and report Structure / Rigor for management and procedure application Flexibility, accountability, adaptability, availability, creativity, priority, urgency Strong ability to work in team environment and build internal and external relationships Valid License Must have excellent communication skills to pass important messages (safety precautions) to workers and senior management clearly to everyone concern. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively with workers. Must have a keen eye for even the smallest of details Must have excellent coordination and organizational abilities Must be someone that can easily motivate other workers Must be willing to work as part of a team and even to lead a team if required to do so Must have in-depth knowledge of safety legislation and procedures/processes Flexibility: This vacancy requires an ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and Public Holiday as per operational requirements. Additional requirements that form part of the selection process: Profile testing. Must pass clients and SAFLog verification process. Medically Fit as per clients and SAFLog requirements.
