My client is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join their esteemed team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to manage critical financial functions and drive operational excellence.

This role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Fees:

  • Calculate partner and company fees accurately and timeously.
  • Review monthly calculations performed by the accounting team.
  • Ensure accruals are processed within deadlines and with proper approvals.
Inter-company Matching:
  • Maintain zero balances between SA Debtors and International Payable.
  • Address invoicing queries to ensure accurate reconciliations.
Operations Liaison:
  • Act as a bridge between Operations and Finance divisions, providing timely and professional service.
Team Oversight:
  • Take responsibility for accurate and timely reports (Flash, packs, P&Ls, etc.).
  • Ensure general ledger reconciliations meet high standards and resolve queries promptly.
Surveys and Compliance:
  • Complete Mauritian authority surveys accurately and within deadlines.
  • Provide precise information to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ad Hoc Assignments:
  • Handle additional tasks assigned by management promptly and effectively.
VAT and Audit Management:
  • Ensure monthly VAT returns are filed on time and facilitate VAT refunds when applicable.
  • Manage audits for the company and subsidiaries from initiation to completion.
Reporting and Database Management:
  • Supply management with accurate figures for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor client setups and fee structures for accuracy and compliance.
People Management:
  • Lead and manage the accounting team effectively.
  • Conduct staff appraisals, develop performance plans, and ensure adherence to company policies.
Communication and Risk Management:
  • Foster open communication and teamwork among colleagues.
  • Identify and mitigate key risk areas, proposing solutions to management.
Project Leadership and Innovation:
  • Spearhead new projects and processes within the division, driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills Experienced:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in financial management, reporting, and team leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
