Description Accountant My client is a mining company looking for a resilient individual who is driven, has attention to detail and persistently seeks solutions to overcome key business challenges. SARS CIPC Drafting of Annual Financail Statements VAT Audits Payroll Accounting to Trial Balance Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. Manage fixed assets, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation. Oversee the accounts receivable process to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts. Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close. Process and Maintain Accurate Payroll Records Monthly provisions, salary and general journals Reconcile inter-group loan accounts Monitor and reconcile company accounts and ledgers Processing and Submission of Relevant Regulatory Returns with Authorities (SARS (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, IRP6 etc), UIF, Compensation Fund etc.) Budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting as needed. Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities. Manage accounts payable processes to ensure timely payment of invoices and favourable payment terms. Preparing financial statements and monthly management reports. Annual Audit Documents Preparation Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements Willingness to take on additional tasks and projects as needed Profile Accounting Degree (BCom) or relevant qualification SAIPA/SAICA completed articles Minimum 5 Years experience in the accounting field (2 years post articles) Draftworx Experience / Pastel Retail Accounting (Advantageous) Microsoft Office skills – Outlook & Excel Experience presenting to other members within the organization Strong processing skills Soft Skills Required: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication (English) Willingness to Learn: Ongoing education and training in your field is the hallmark of a good Accountant. You must stay up to date on the latest trends and information. Excellent organizational skills. Effective time management skills. Interpersonal skills. Strong analytical skills Strong problem-solving abilities Team Player. Have high energy levels and show a very good tolerance to stress. Attention to detail.
