They are looking for a skilled ED Analyst to join their team. This a permanent role based in Cape Town. Experience in renewables is a must. General Description / Job Purpose: Supports the ED team with managing reporting relating to Economic Development (“ED”), ED Audits and Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (“B-BBEE”) verification for the construction and operational assets of the company. Assists with tracking of SED and EnD spend across all operational projects and timeously identify potential risks of underspend Minimum Requirements: A Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration or equivalent NQF level with post graduate studies 3 – 5 years' experience in the Renewable Energy Industry, and this includes but not limited to: Fair understanding of socio-economic requirements in the REIPPPP Strong document management and administration ability Good reporting and writing Good interpersonal skills; able to influence others without having direct Excellent verbal and written communication skills; in particular, good presentation skills at all levels Well-developed, analytical with an outstanding conflict and problem-solving skills Other Skills: Knowledge of local laws and regulations which affect the business environment Ability to review, analyze and/or interpret local, provincial and national laws and policies and regulations in relation to economic development Understanding of Implementation agreements and comprehension of the construction and operational economic development (ED) obligations of all projects. Engages with contractors regarding ED reporting, to receive the ED reports and supporting documentation and to ensure that contractors are abiding to reporting Reviews ED reports of contractors and assists in compiling Project Company ED reports assess the ED achievements and commitments in detail and vets achievements against supporting documentation. Assists in liaising with company's finance team monthly to obtain, analyze and compile relevant company ED achievements and supporting documentation (procurement data) as well as supporting documents to substantiate job creation data. Ensures that all supporting documentation has been collated and saved on the company's online systems in a clear and logical manner. Obtain annual revenue forecast of all operational projects to determine SED and EnD Assists with tracking of SED and EnD spend, Supplier Development and Skills Development initiatives and ensuring correct supporting documents are provided. Assists in responding to any ED reporting related queries raised by various stakeholders, as and when required. Assists with coordinating the annual ED audits and BBBEE Assists with contracting and administration of the SED and EnD programmes in line with approved SED Plans. This includes but is not limited to: Support the management of SED and EnD contracts in place with implementing agents (i.e., monitor performance); Support the optimization of SED and EnD agreements, beneficiary contract templates, annexures, and associated documentation. Assists in the preparation of Quarterly and Annual reports to the Independent Power Producer Office of the Department of Energy (‘'IPPO'') and other stakeholders. Support the compilation of Quarterly Social and Ethics Committee packs for all operations projects. As and when required by the Company, participate in conferences and meetings with government departments, politicians, industry bodies, service providers and other potential stakeholders.
