Trident Steel Africa ( TSA ) centrally situated in Roodekop , Germiston and other facilities in Durban and Gqeberha provide a wide product range to the steel industry in South Africa from their modern and comprehensive steel service centers and specialty steel divisions. JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT : This position would form an integral part of the preventative and breakdown maintenance, new projects and machine upgrades within the company in assistance to production related requests . KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES): Ensure safety standards and safe work practices are adhered to as per company policy Perform risk assessments as required Ensure that workplace is kept safe, that protective clothing is in use where mandatory and that all safety precautions which have been instructed are compiled with Control material wastage Complete daily reports and time sheets accurately and timeously Take care of all small tools and minor plant in use and return these to safekeeping at the end of each day Checks that the sub-contractor is carrying out his work correctly on an AD-HOC basis Assist and perform any reasonable assignment as requested by management from time to time out of his/her scope of deadline Meet job deadlines Ensure that adequate inspection and tests are carried out and properly documented in line with OHS A ct Attend regular progress review meetings Work overtime/shifts as required Perform all maintenance related work on and in plant to prescribed maintenance schedules Take control of assigned subordinates KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Read, interpret electrical drawings Good communication skills BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: Adhere to principles and values Following instructions and procedures Working in a team environment . ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified Electrician NTC3/ Equivalent Qualification EXPERIENCE: 5 years maintenance experience in process lines. Metal processing plant experience would be an advantage. Electrical experience on technical support, on site repairs and preventative maintenance, panel designing, and wiring are essential. PLC fault finding and variable speed drives.
