We are looking for a AS400 Operator to join the team. Accurate execution of daily operations on the AS/400. Perform and manage backups using BRMS. Ensuring that the equipment in the computer room is maintained and in working condition. Stock control of all paper and printer cartridge requirements. Regular review of daily processes and runtimes of jobs on the AS/400. Assist with stock take. Provide printer support to users. Monitor and report on status of environmental controls in the data centre. Assist with user account queries on the AS/400. Help desk tasks (user support). Ensure the physical security of the computer room. Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent. AS400 operating skills 2 years minimum (Shift work). Good knowledge of iSeries Systems. Prior IBM BRMS (Backup Recovery Media Services) experience. Prior HMC and console experience. Own transport essential. Competencies: Punctual and dependable. Effective communication skills to assist users and external technology partners. Diligence and ability to accurately input data. Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
