My client is constantly on the search for Prototype Assemblers to join their dynamic team. As an Assembler, you will play a pivotal role in bringing their concepts to life, assembling prototypes of retail fixtures and displays that will guide our production processes and client presentations. (The position is based in La Mercy, Durban at the Dube Tradepost)
Key Duties:
Assemble prototypes of point of sale and shopfitting structures using a variety of materials and tools.
Work from technical drawings, sketches, and written instructions to ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with designers and engineers to refine prototype designs based on assembly feedback.
Test assembled prototypes for functionality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
Document assembly processes and prototype performance for future reference and improvement.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
Assist in the training of new team members on prototyping techniques and assembly methods.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly role is advantageous.
Basic understanding of tools and techniques used in prototyping and assembly.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
