We are recruiting for experienced Design Engineers Design and Development Conceptualize, design, and develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling for automotive manufacturing processes. Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA. Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and company specifications. Prototyping and Testing Perform stress analysis, load testing, and other simulations to ensure durability and performance. Collaborate with the testing team to refine designs based on test results. Collaboration and Coordination Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of tooling into manufacturing processes. Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components required for tooling. Coordinate with the automation team to integrate tooling with robotic systems and automated machinery. Documentation and Reporting Prepare detailed documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guidelines. Maintain records of design changes, testing results, and production feedback. Generate reports on project progress, design modifications, and performance metrics. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. Stay updated with the latest advancements in manufacturing technology, materials, and industry trends. Conduct root cause analysis of tooling failures and implement corrective actions. Quality Assurance Ensure all designs comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Perform inspections and quality checks on tooling before release to production. Address any quality issues promptly and implement preventive measures. Project Management Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints. Develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management. Training and Support Provide training and technical support to production teams on the proper use and maintenance of tooling. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to jigs, fixtures, and tooling in the production environment. Health and Safety Ensure all designs prioritize operator safety and ergonomics. Implement safety features and conduct risk assessments on new tooling. Promote a culture of safety and adherence to health and safety regulations in the workplace. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and automation. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations. Project management experience is a plus.
