Bookkeeper - Pietermaritzburg

PMB based manufacturing concern are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team.

Skills required:

  • Proficient in MS Office. Accsys and Syspro would be beneficial
  • General understanding of main accounting principles - accruals, revenue etc
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Minimum - ICB - Certificate in Bookkeeping
  • 3+ years bookkeeping experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience in supporting payroll processing
  • Strong accounting knowledge

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Preparing and processing journal entries
  • Filing source documents
  • Performing monthly GL reconciliations
  • Performing payroll admin duties, including ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements
  • Maintaining and updating fixed asset register
  • Processing supplier invoices and performing creditor reconciliations monthly
  • Preparing monthly VAT return workings
  • Assisting with external audits and other financial reporting requirements
