Chief Information Officer CIO - Gauteng A payment solutions provider is looking for a CIO for their IT Software Department to be responsible for ensuring the use of modern IT software and technologies to streamline business operations. The COO will oversee the use of Information technology (IT) in the company. They will devise the company's IT strategy and ensure that all systems necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place. The successful candidate must have a solid IT background and consistently keep up to date with advancements of the field. Strong leadership qualities with business acumen are critical to be effective. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO: Lead a team managing all aspects of IT (Software) with delivery across multiple functions Build a culture of innovation and engagement, focusing on strengthening the organization's employer brand Identify risks and form contingency plans as soon as possible Keep up with the latest industry trends and developments Develop, implement and monitor software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance Ensure compliance with Cyber Security best practices Ensure that all application development initiatives are well managed and delivered to meet expectations on functionality, timeliness, and cost Implement and champion a robust professional development program, and continuously upskill team members to keep them current Set objectives and strategies for the IT department Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize strategic benefits Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and stakeholders within the organization Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance Direct and organize IT-related projects Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions REQUIREMENTS Matric essential BSc bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related fields 4 years of proven experience in similar senior role is advantageous Industry experience is highly advantageous (banking / retail / merchant) Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation Impeccable IT knowledge and infrastructure Strong technical skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills An understanding of IOT technology Superior leadership skills Relationship building and team development skills Thorough understanding of data management and administration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Skilled at strategic planning and goal setting Excellent Presentation skills Familiarity with IT standards and regulations A strong strategic and business mindset Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations Monthly Salary: Market related
