The Compensation/Remuneration and Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company's compensation, retirement funds, risk benefits, and medical aid programs. The role involves ensuring these programs are competitive, cost-effective, and align with the organization's strategic objectives. The manager will analyze compensation data, oversee benefits administration, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (KRAs): 1. Compensation Management: Develop and implement the University's compensation strategy and structure. Conduct regular market analysis to ensure competitive pay practices. Oversee salary benchmarking. Manage annual salary review and bonus processes. 2. Benefits Administration: Design and manage employee benefits programs, including retirement funds, risk benefits, and medical aid. Ensure effective communication of benefits programs to employees. Manage relationships with external benefits providers and vendors. Monitor benefits trends and make recommendations for improvements. 3. Compliance and Governance: Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes and ensure company practices are aligned. Prepare and submit required compliance reports and documentation 4. Budget Management: Develop and manage the compensation and benefits budget. Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effective program management. Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to senior management. 5. Employee Relations and Support: Provide guidance and support to employees regarding compensation and benefits queries. Conduct training sessions for HR staff and managers on compensation and benefits policies. Resolve employee issues related to compensation and benefits in a timely and effective manner. 6. Strategic Planning and Analysis: Analyze compensation and benefits data to identify trends and provide strategic insights. Collaborate with senior management to align compensation and benefits strategies with business objectives. Develop and implement initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and retention. Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in compensation and benefits management. Experience with HRIS and compensation management software. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful compensation and benefits programs. Competencies: 1. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in HRIS and compensation management software. 2. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret and apply data to make informed decisions. 3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of audiences. 4. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 5. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans. Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational goals. 6. Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization. 7. Ethical Conduct: High level of integrity and ethical standards.
